GREY’S ANATOMY

Since its arrival on Netflix, Grey’s Anatomy (shortened to “Grey’s” by fans) has become even more popular than it was before.

Those who hadn’t started the show back when it aired for the first time in 2005 were able to join in on the joy by binge watching all of the available episodes on Netflix and become engrossed with the story lines and snappy dialogue that makes this particular show so well-loved by its adoring fans.

Following the life of medical intern Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), the viewer gets to know all of her fellow interns and superiors as the years pass by and her relationships change, adjust and disintegrate. In the ten plus years that is has been on the air, more eight years have passed within the fictional story line. Characters have come and gone and each one has made a lasting impact on the show in their own way.

You are able to laugh along with the funny dialogue and try to guess which patients survive or not in this hospital-based drama, but excellent writing by Shonda Rhimes keeps viewers glued to the screen until the very last second, unable to predict where the episode will go. From dramatic ones with plenty of action, to quieter ones that focus on the romantic angle of the show, Grey’s Anatomy has something for everyone.

Though the show has over 250 episodes and counting, there is never a repeat medical marvel or an episode that seems eerily similar to another one (unless intentionally done), an amazing feat that puts many similar shows (Hawthorne, Scrubs) to shame. Every character and individual plot is all part of the main plot line and viewers are swept along from episode to episode in a mesmerizing fashion.

With memorable lines of dialogue and gut-wrenching plot twists that no one could have predicted, this long time running show has more fans than some of the TV shows that have been running longer. Since it’s appearance on all of the online TV databases, fans of the show are able to share their love for the exciting romantic drama as they re-watch the original season and work their way up to the most recent ones that are full of the same nail-biting drama and side splitting lines of dialogue that fans have loved from the start.

Engaging, well-written and dramatic, Grey’s Anatomy is a crowd favourite and has yet to fail in entertaining its audience. Though fans find themselves outraged at a dark plot twist, they are still ready to keep watching the show because, as much as they hate those moments, the overall plot of the show is incredible and addictive. Like a drug, Grey’s Anatomy will pull your curious mind into its first season with promises of hilarious dialogue, and then keep you within its clenches until you’re gasping for more and have gotten all of your friends hooked on the romantic drama as well. A perfect show for binge watching, Grey’s Anatomy will deliver a good time.
